This interior design project for a Sydney CBD restaurant was commissioned by acclaimed restaurateurs Sunny and Ross Lusted.

They spent many years working for the globally renowned Aman Resorts Group, before deciding to open their own Sydney restaurant, Bridge Room.

Sunny and Ross asked us to design an environment that would create an enjoyable dining experience for their clients, and represent a material incarnation of their signature style.

That style – and our manifestation of it – was described by food critic Terry Durack as: “instinctively modern, with a trace of new Nordic naturalism, a little ’90s classicism and a touch of farm-to-table”.

We also layered in a slightly Japanese sense of Zen to reflect the purity of ingredients, and the precision of preparation that is characteristic of Ross’s cuisine.

The result, in a heritage listed 1930s corner building close to Circular Quay, is a relaxed, stylish dining experience. The Bridge Room is a nuanced mix of influences, brought together to create a harmonious experience.
